Grilled Asparagus

  • 1 lb (454 g) fresh organic or local asparagus, washed, woody ends snapped off
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) extra-virgin olive oil

Place asparagus spears on grill at right angles so they won’t fall through. Grill over medium heat for 2 minutes on one side. Roll over and continue grilling for another 2 minutes, or until you reach the level of doneness you prefer.

Remove from barbecue. Whisk together lime juice and oil, sprinkle on cooked asparagus, and serve.

Serves: 4.

40 calories; 3 g protein; 1.5 g fat (0 g sat fat, 0 g trans fat); 5 g carbs; 2 g fibre; 0 mg sodium
